Day 4- LondonSGP DAY!  ta-daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa what i was looking forward to the event of a lifetimeee! singapore day AND WHEN IM IN LONDON, how cool is that! i love singapore themed events i love ndp, and especially when im away from home i miss everything even more!  stage where artistes like Mark Lee, Jack Neo, Dim Sum Dollies, Taufik Batisah performed! It was sooo nice to hear the familar accent everywhere. even on the train there we heard singaporean "lah" "lor" I MISS SINGAPORE MANS! so we were there really early. like 10am, before the event starts at 1030am. so first thing is to CHIONG for goodie bag.   and then we proceeded to the "Katong" area for the Laksa. (This is as the Hampton court grounds was divided into regions like Lau Pa Sat, Demsey Hill etc). There was no queue yet as the ERP gates just opened. :D So with Laksa in hand (something mummy would really approve of, since she loves laksa so much), we went for Char Kway Teow. After that we just quickly sat down on a grass patch and started eating like no tomorrow. We knew we were on a mission to eat as much Singapore food as possible, before the queues started forming. So we continued to satay sauce with crabstick, prata, Bak Ku teh. then continuing the sitting down routine. Meanwhile, queues started to form (damn) so we had to be more strategic. So it was go get butterfly(the fried dough thing) then proceeding to queue like 20min for hokkien mee. ((: then i still had room for curry puff. while the others were lazy/ too full. I EVEN ate pulut hitam later! hahahah look below for the food! and oh yes, there was chilli crab too. but i didnt take photo as i didnt want the camera to have chilli flavour!  so we just sat there on the grass patch... and waited.. and relaxed and met more people!!! LIKE LOOK BELOW! YAY MY NUS BIZAD CLASSMATES!  YAYY AND THIS IS MY NUS BIZAD CLIQUE! our og! omg, all except clarine, valerie, candy and hazel. so this is 60% of us in LONDON, EUROPE!  free shirt!!! The left t-shirt says "I want my laksa, teh tarik, nasi lemak, chicken rice, prata. Now." The right t-shirt says "My heart lies 137km above the equator on a little red dot." you could line up and choose if you want shirt A or shirt B. DUH, OF COURSE CHOOSE BOTH LA! ((:  Dim Sum Dollies they are sooooo uber cute!  Hossan Leong, so friendly! (ps: i think they are friendlier cos they think we are overseas sgporeans)  i love the fine balloon in the background! and it was so cosy, singaporeans busking in the sun it was breezy too but just alright with the winds blowing.  Angie and me. Angie's my junior from rv eldds. im really so grateful to her for putting me and kristine up, considering in the past i wasnt really v close to her, yet she still agreed and was such a fab host in london! and she had her exams yet she still allowed us to stay with her. and omg im so proud of her, she's like the president of LSE Singapore Society! Damn cool right! i stayed at her place for 1.5 nights! 0.5 cos the last night i departed at 3am to catch the morning bus to the airport.  On our way pack to King's Cross station then i realised how cool singapore day is. they actually had this poster-customer info telling people of the event and special trains arranged. WHOA! SINGAPORE IS BIGGIE! and oh yes  After going back to Oxford Street again and damn, primark was closed. We did some last min shopping like Topshop and Dorothy Perkins (yes it was really cheaper than sgp prices!! like maybe 20% cheaper) i managed to get a pair of jeans on sale for only 20 pounds t0 replace my already-torn one, which actually split in germany and is now a floormat :DD and thank goodness for my inner thermal if not my modesty would be compromised.  London eye at night- it was pretty. cos we got out of the metro station and the first thing i saw was this. WAHHHHHHHH! then we started taking photos. and guess what! kRISTINE HAS SHAKIER HANDS THAN ME i thought i had the shakiest hands ever, but im wrong! we took ages to get the perfect with london eye shot. sorry krist for forcing u to take so many times, but ur hands were getting shakier and shakier that there seemed to be london eyes! :D  Viv with big ben. Kinda blur but this was kristine's best not-so-shaky shot. loil  krist and me on our way back for our dinner with shu ann  last look at london metro before i head back to copenhagen  My dumplings. EXPENSIVE CAN! hahaha but oh well.  Kristine with Pad Thai  my buys at the airport. a muffin to wake me up while waiting for the plane as i didnt sleep a wink, for i was waiting for the 710am plane back to cph. (yes, a damn early time cos it was the cheapest!) SO EXCITING travelling alone! and travelling alone u got to be on guard 100%!! and a book i bought! cheap!!! :D it's like only <10SGD for a Jodi Picoult! I WISH I DID MY EXCHANGE IN THE UK, but i would have spent more MOONEY i think. Labels: UK |
