love is a battlefield

related to my previous entrya lit poem from my secondary school days i remember vaguely and was trying to find the title because i just couldn't remember it! i think my father was a little worried too when i started putting on makeup (last time lah) heehee  Advice to a teenage daughter Isobel Thrilling You have found a new war-game called Love Here on your dressing-table Stand arrayed brave ranks of lipsticks brandishing swords of cherry pink & flame. Behold the miniature armies of little jars, packed with the scented dynamite of flowers. See the dreaded tweezers; tiny pots of manufactured moonlight, stick-on-stars. Beware my sweet; Conquest may seem easy but you cant compete with football, motor-cycles, cars, cricket, computer-games, or a plate of chips. i love how the poem compares love to be like a battlefield using phrases like "ranks of lipsticks" and the reddish tones of lipstick to be seemingly like war paint etc. :D really, must i compete with football or computer games? :( |
the girl
vivien is a nus bizader, twentythree and loved by her family and friends. she loves travelling
and taking photos and losing weight. (not necessarily the process) she is generally nice (she thinks!)
a little fluffy. but don't take life too seriously! a little temperamental, a little emotional! (but i'm a girl :))) and sometimes she just talks too much when she's nervous. :D :D chitchat
